We purchased over $10k in outdoor furniture 6 years ago and this past summer the finish started peeling. I am now at the point where the finish is 70% gone from almost every piece, the dining table is completely down to the metal.

I sent numerous pictures to the review department and finally today they responded that they can do nothing for me. The furniture at this point will need to be scrapped.

They are telling me that this is normal wear. This is very poor customer service and I will never buy another piece from them, not even a towel.

Monetary Loss: $10000.

Location: Landing, New Jersey

I had the exact same experience and when I bought this, the frame had a lifetime warranty.

I experienced the same thing with a metal slider.Terrible rusting after 2 years. Winters and Fall spent in doors. It is something you would expect to experience at Walmart not Restoration Hardware.

RH replaced every piece of my furniture because they admitted there were issues with the supplier, particularly around plating the furniture. I would recommend you keep trying, try to get a supervisor or someone with juice.

I wrote numerous emails with pictures and logged numerous calls, it took about 6 months for them to resolve my issues.

I'm having the same issue with the Antibes collection myself. When you spend that kind of money on furniture, it better last for more than 6 years!!!

Of course everyone I speak to in customer service is useless. I will no longer be purchasing anything from this store.

You are an ***. You purchased them 6 years agoโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆ..what do you expect????

RH replaced all of the furniture, every piece because they told me the manufacturer for them the year I purchased admitted they had issues with plating and I wasnt the only one who complained. Companies should stand behind lifetime guarantees. Now who is the ***.

Uh, Restoration Hardware has no lifetime guarantee. Infact Restoration Hardware has no guarantee on their furniture at all.

Any warranty issues are handled on a case by case basis. Not only that look at most furniture retailers and the best ones out there only have a 2-5 year warranty.

You expect outdoor furniture that you've spent over $ 10,000 on to last well over 6 years.

Writer didn't buy this furniture at K-Mart.

You are rude

I've had my own problems with RH.

I've few questions regarding your problem:

Do you cover or store your furniture in winter months?

Is the furniture left outside or stored for the winter?

Have you waxed those metal frames at least once a year?

Do you live close to the ocean?

Winter months can be brutal to metal furniture. Temp. differences - freeze/thaw harms it, sea air contains salt which is also bad, and not waxing the frames leaves it entirely open for exposure.

Fot the summer months add to the above high temps. and sun which also plays havoc.

I understand your frustrations, but if you've not protected your furniture you're going to have problems. With a $10,000. investment consider having the frames repainted by a reputable firm, wax annually, and store/cover it.

Could you explain how to "wax" RH's furniture. We have the Antibes.

Thanks for your advice.

Scot

Could you tell us how to 'wax' RH's Antibes furniture ?

Or were you referring to another collection ?
