Worst ever lying staff and customer services!!!!

Their designer at Houston Gallery lied to us that we should place the order right away when we just first visited the shop. The reason is in case they discontinued the item we want. It is not something cheap. It cost us $16,000. The designer told us not to worry because we can go back to change whatever we want in 90 days, even cancel the order if we wish, and nothing would be charged before they are ready to deliver the item. (Whatever she said is a big LIE!!!!) After we moved into our new place, we did all the measurement and decided to change our bed set to king size, so we went back to the gallery. She was not there, so we went to other designers for help. Here was all nightmares began. These two designers told us nothing can be changed because these were custom orders and they showed us we signed the agreement "3" times. I knew I signed it, because the designer told us it was just to confirm the order, nothing major. These two designers' attitudes were unbelievably awful. Kept showing us they assumed we were lying because they didn't believe their coworker would lie about this, especially that designer was so experienced.... Finally, they called their customer services and changed the order for us. After we went home, my girlfriend emailed the designer who placed the order for us and she replied and told us not to go to anyone else and please return to her, so she can get everything right for us. The appointment was 5pm and she let us wait until 5:30pm. After few phone calls, everything seemed right. Guess what, still not. The rule is half of the amount will be charged right after you place the order and for custom items, there is no refund of this deposit if you choose to return, which none of these was ever mentioned to us!!!! I called their customer services to complain about this designer's dishonesty behavior. Customer service staff seemed so understanding and even scheduled a time to call me back. Guess what, after more than a week, no one ever contacted me!!! This is how awful this company is. Think over again before you decide to throw in tons of money for the worst ever service experiences!!!!! I have not received my items and hopefully nothing will go wrong...

Wonderful Experience with Talented Staff Members

My wife and I went to RH as part of a remodel we are doing at our home. The staff was very helpful and extremely knowledgeable. We were able to select the furniture and fixtures to completely revamp 3 rooms in our home without the normal anxiety attendant with remodeling. RH had it all in one location, so we didn't have to make the traditional trek to to a dozen different decorating locations, nor did we have to visit more than twice. The wide variety of products helped us choose the exact decorating style my wife and I wanted (a twist on shabby chic). We accented the décor with a few of the extremely attractive indoor floral selections and art pieces. Thank You RH!

Unethical business conduct and terrible supply chain management

We were told that dinning chairs we ordered were custom made and will be ready to be shipped by end of July. When we wanted to change the order 2 weeks after placing the order, the in-store sales rep informed us that products were ready to be shipped so couldn't make any changes. We then decided to stick with the original order. While we received our dinning table, we found out dinning chairs were not shipped together and they were actually back ordered till October! No one has told us this information. If we were known that the chairs will be back order, we would not have ordered them at the first place! This is really unethical business conduct! We called customer service for 3 times in 2 days and no one could tell us what is going on. I had to call 4th time to strongly express my dissatisfaction and they agreed to send loaner chairs. However, these loaner chairs were only available in 2-3 weeks. I had to insist getting them asap, then they decided to accelerate the shipment so I can get then within a week. I called every day after, and guess what every day I was told a different delivery timeline. It's been one week, we have not seen any loaner chairs and no one can tell us when we can get them. We have been sitting on sofa having dinner! They are doing a great job testing your limit! This gotta be the worst furniture shopping experience or retail experience I have ever had! I will strongly recommend anyone NOT to buy from this company. Their design is great but with the amount of money they charge plus unbelievable bad service, it is a complete rip off!

Bought a $2000 dining table and after four years and one move the mechanics to take it apart to allow it out the door busted. Called RH and they had no idea anything about the furniture they are even selling! It took 4 days and an email for them to send the mechanics of it and ... Oh wait nope they still haven't sent it two weeks later. Asked if I could get a partial refund and they are unsympathetic and condescending.

DO NOT buy @ Restoration Hardware - They will rip you off

RH showroom is beautiful but that's where the 'nice' rating stops. The customer service phone support is useless- I was on hold for 30 minutes with zero solution. For more than 10 years, I have purchased linen curtains that are meant to literally last a lifetime. Restoration Hardware policy implies that they are only meant to last a few years. I always purchase no less than 5 panels of the Belgian linen panels and the sheer linen did not wear equally. The quality is questionable, the customer service lacking. Perhaps Restoration Hardware should label their products 'disposable"? "Me thinks NOT"! Do not buy from Restoration Hardware... they will rip you off.

I can tell you RH does not have a warranty policy.

They simply 'stand behind their products'. If they feel those drapes are only meant to last 3 years that is how long they will offer a replacement for. If they feel they are meant to last 1 year that is it.

There is nothing on their website to imply a specific warranty period. This is the same for PotteryBarn, Williams-Sonoma, and many companies that sell this same kind of merchandise so it isn't just RH.

Restoration Hardware Customer Care Review from Auburn, California

For Christmas 2014, I had ordered 14 faux fur blankets online and feverishly attempted to make sure that each one had its own box with a ribbon for a holiday gift. I was extremely specific with my order and called the customer service to follow up. The customer service rep says that they have to consolidate all of the blankets as much as possible for shipping. I said, "wait a minute, I am paying for all the shipping and all of the boxes, so you are saying to me, you are over charging me for the request for the gift boxes for each blanket as a gift, and not wrapping them separately, and condensing the shipment, but charging me for the shipping weight as if you are? And the rep responded to "yes this is company policy to be green and conserve." I am thinking, ripping off customers and stealing from them is called conservation and going green? After some serious head banging with this ***, I spoke with a supervisor and explained and repeated what the rep had said to me, and if I could have seen her face along with the tone of her voice, she probably would have been vomiting at the same time. I suppose that is an inside rule not to be repeated. LOL. So, I received all gift boxes for free, all wrapped with bows and free shipping on all 14 packages, which were quite huge too! Take one for the team RH!!! You seem to hire incompetence and rip off artists... Shame on you for deliberately ripping customers off, you are a pathetic excuse for a business and straight up thieves, no better than Bernie Madoff the "American Fraudster", ironically fitting for RH.
